In-folio, 213 p., brown morocco, ribbed spine decorated with a crowned numeral, boards decorated with cold frames and the crowned numeral gilded on the spandrels, double gilt fillet on the edges, interior gilt lace (Galette). Collection of numerous press clippings and a few handwritten letters tracing the career of Victor-Emile-Charles de Boyer de Sainte-Suzanne (1824-1884), illustrating the typical career path of a senior civil servant of the Second Empire and early Third Republic, passing through various prefectoral posts before taking up a prestigious position in Monaco at the end of his career. Serving in various sub-prefectures, he was Prefect of Aube from 1869 to 1870, then Governor of the Principality of Monaco from 1875 to 1884. In addition to his administrative duties, he was a prolific scholar and author. Binding slightly rubbed.
