(cat.),marbled fawn calf with nicely decorated smooth spine, cold framing on the boards, guilloche edges (period binding). Italian-language edition illustrated with an allegorical portrait of the author and 20 hors-texte plates by Hubert-François Gravelot (1699-1773) reproducing those of the 1771 edition. Bindings very slightly rubbed, tiny leather stitching, tiny hole in one plate (burn), brown stain in margin of first 5 leaves of volume II, other defects minor.
