Reunion of two political texts written by Jean-Joseph Mounier, lawyer and politician. Mounier played a major role in the early days of the French Revolution, notably by helping to draw up the Constitution, which he wanted to be preceded by a Declaration of Human Rights. The first text gives his account of the first five months of the National Assembly. Mounier published this text the day after the October '89 days. In it, he justifies his actions as president of the Assembly. He resigned shortly afterwards. The second text, on the influence of philosophers and Freemasons on the events of the Revolution, was originally written in 1801. This is the second edition.
