273. DUROC (Géraud Christophe Michel). 2 one-page LAS each, as aide-de-camp to General Bonaparte, dated 2 and 11 germinal An 6 (March 21 and 31, 1798). Duroc (1772-1813) became Bonaparte's aide-de-camp in 1796, during the first Italian campaign, where he stood out for his courage and dedication. He sent these letters to Jean Debry on behalf of General Bonaparte, accompanied by silver medals struck in Milan. Duroc would later take part in several important battles, notably at Salahieh and Jaffa during the Egyptian campaign that was about to begin (1798-1799).
